Umbrella culture & other randoms!

It's amazing to see how much these people love umbrellas! Rain or shine, they don't like anything in their face, so everytime it's either raining or really sunny, it looks like a sea of umbrellas no matter where you go!

Scrolling down you see Jeff celebrating he found a piece of trash to pick up, talk about clean guests in the park! Further down you see Patrick walking on the parade route. We got new hats that day, so he was walking around like Mr. Main Street, USA. I figure i'd post a picture of him to give him a hard time. I thought he was going to break into song and dance any minute...

The rest of the pics here are just out and about one afternoon in the park. You can actually see the lovely sweat glistening in my face in that picture.

Last pic here represents a solution to a big problem we've been having. Guests have been jumping into the parade route, so Disney had to come up with some kind of uniform that would intimidate guests and give authority to the cast members doing audience control... check those out! you wouldn't dare defy someone wearing that...

Cast Pep Rally

Today was the cast pep rally before our soft opening. They had the passing of the torch and the ambassador and VP make speeches and all that good Disney stuff... The cool thing was they gave everyone Mouse Ears so it was like a sea of cast members in Mickey ears. The people in the picture are the other GSM's, Ernest, Dave & Nancy (his wife). The guy waving in the ears is our director, Bryan.

Macau

This are all at Macau. It's kinda like the Las Vegas of Asia... not really anywhere near it yet though. They're building a Wynn exactly like the one in Vegas but a bit smaller, and I hear MGM Grand just bought some land here. Fun place though... gambled a bit in this really nice hotel called Lisboa which is full of hookers! The hotel is so nice, they have all these antiques, including the Nazi Buddha! but for some reason they like having hookers there, talk about customer service!

Th rest are out and about in the town. That poor old man was just sitting there reading the paper... he could barely walk. That church in the background is one of the main landmarks of Macau. Apparently there was a fire and the only thing that was saved was the front facade.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com They have these cookie makers on the street and food vendors on the street. Sullivan (who took us there) knew some in the shop so they gave us all these free cookies and they let me try making some... i wasn't very good. We were sitting at the table when we realized there was a cat underneath. It didn't move the whole time so we thought it was dead, we finally saw it breathe though!

These are taken at Tsim Sha Tsui, which is kinda lika a treandy section of Hong Kong... This place is called Avenue of the Stars, the HK version of our Walk of Fame. The other ones were taken at Temple Street Market, where they have all kinds of fortune tellers. The lady used a bird, that came and picked out my fortune, the other guy read my palm and face.

Again... HKDL. These were taken from up in Tarzan's Treehouse, the only place where you can find a breeze here! The one of the train station i love 'cause you can actually see a blue sky, not a common sight here in HK.

We decided to go benchmark this amusement park called Ocean Park. Pretty cool place, kilnda like a Sea World with carnival rides. What was really cool about it was that it was built on a mountain. The way you got around was on escalators up the side of the mountain. They also had this really scary cable car to come down the side of the mountain. You can see it on the pics, I thought it was going to break off and fall!

The funny looking food hut was what a typical food cart looks like! i thought it was funny it had all these crazy sea animals on it! The last pic is a night view of Hong Kong from Victoria Peak.
